This trip aboard the "Yangtze Discovery" was a river experience that far exceeded expectations. The ship is moderate in size, with well-planned public spaces that preserve the open views of Yangtze sailing while balancing privacy and comfort.

This trip aboard the "Yangtze Discovery" completed the four-day voyage from Yichang to Chongqing — a relaxed yet richly filled river journey. Dinner was arranged right after boarding on the first evening, with a rich variety of dishes.

A Yangtze New Year cruise has a flavor all its own. For 2026, I chose a different way to spend the holiday — a "working stiff's" cruise. As the ship sailed, the greenery on both banks came into view, and the ancient embankments looked especially festive in the New Year mood.

Yangtze Ode Spring Festival cruise, Chongqing–Yichang. Setting out on the long-awaited Yangtze cruise, boarding at Chongqing's Chaotianmen wharf, the Yangtze Ode did not disappoint. Onboard service was excellent and the staff highly professional.

The food and service were both good. Every dinner the head chef would go table to table asking how the dishes tasted. I found the 4th-floor VIP restaurant quite nice — mainly because there was a fresh-ground coffee machine and cold milk every day.

Took my parents on their first cruise, and the two of them couldn't stop praising it. The Ode's hardware is all new; the 6th-floor balcony room we booked was quite comfortable.

As the weather cooled I wanted to take my parents to see the Three Gorges, and a friend recommended the Yangtze Ode — a new ship that only made its maiden voyage on October 1. This trip was truly worth it. Being a new ship, the lighting, buttons, and outlets were all thoughtfully designed.
